About these guides

Most temple pages online are confidently wrong about the things that matter most on the day — when the doors open, what darshan costs, what you are allowed to wear. Those details change, and pages rarely say when they were last checked.

What we do differently

Facts on these pages are split into two kinds, and treated differently.

Things that don't change — which deity a temple is dedicated to, its history, its place in tradition, roughly how you get there — are written up normally.

Things that do change — timings, darshan arrangements, dress codes — are only shown when they have been checked against a named source, and they always appear with that source and the date of the check. If we have not verified something, the page says so plainly and points you at the temple's own site instead. An empty space is more honest than a plausible guess.

When something is out of date

A checked detail older than a year is flagged as possibly out of date rather than quietly left to age. If you notice something wrong, please tell us — corrections take priority over new pages.

What these guides are not

They are not official, not affiliated with any temple or trust, and not a substitute for confirming details with the temple administration before you travel.
